ResiDex Medication Information
ResiDex lets you track all medication information for a resident. With ResiDex, you may generate Med Assistance Record (MAR) worksheets in a variety of formats. These are forms that you use to track all of the times meds are administered for a resident. Along with the medication name and generic equivalent, the forms show dosage, and special instructions.
The med assist forms all incorporate an aide-friendly, easy-to-use format that highlights new meds and changed meds. Days when the meds are not to be given or after the med is discontinued are "grayed out" to avoid inadvertent entries. Two of the many available med assist forms available from ResiDex include:
- Med Assistance Sheet
A user-friendly grid that allows the aide to initial meds administered per day. Shows only the meds marked as aide-administered. Special instructions can be flagged for highlighting. This will highlight the instructions for this med to draw them to the aide's attention. - Med Admin Sheet (MAR)
A user-friendly grid that shows all of the meds a resident uses, including those that are self-administered or nurse-administered.
As Needed Medications
Various report formats are provided for the "As Needed" (or " PRN") meds. These reports allow you to chart all of the "As Needed" meds that have been provided for the resident over a period of time. Additional options include a column for tracking the results of the "as needed" med. Advanced report options include an "As Needed Pain Med" format that shows the meds prescribed for mild to moderate paid on the same sheet as the meds prescribed for severe pain. By tracking these all on one sheet, the cumulative meds taken for pain can be viewed at the same time. Medication Charts
Med Setup charts are provided in a format similar to the MAR forms, but sorted alphabetically rather than by time. The med setup charts available in ResiDex also feature highlighting for new or changed meds, and full information about special instructions associated with the med.
ResiDex also has a medication tracking system - Med Recap Med Recap is a way to document medications. It tracks when and to whom the assistance was provided, which staff member assisted, and notes. Med Recap was designed with a Touch Screen interface in mind, and works easily with either a Touch Screen monitor or a traditional PC with a mouse and keyboard. How does Med Recap work?
- Medications entered into ResiDex, and Med Assist Services are assigned
- Each staff member is set up with login name, roles, and initials, which they use to log in.
- The staff member will access their Med Assist services on the schedule screen
- Staff will click or touch the Med Assist service to show the list of meds
- They may click or touch to indicate that a med was taken or declined
- Notes may be selected from provided text snippets
- Staff may also use this screen to chart as-needed medications
- This screen integrates with TouchTech Service Charting
What are the benefits of Med Recap? When a provider has a Med Assist service, providers can see: - Dosage, frequency, route, indications and special instructions
- Possible adverse reactions to the medications
- As-needed medications
- All other available medication information for the resident is provided
Providers document: - Each medication assist
- Medications that were declined or not given
- Notes on why a med was or was not given, or details about how the med was provided
As-Needed Med Recap: - The medication list for a resident includes all their as-needed medications
- Every time an as-needed medication is administered, the provider can record notes regarding the assist time, dosage provided, reason for providing the medication, and other notes
- Every time an as-needed medication is given, a follow-up task may automatically be created as specified by the Director of Nursing
