Streamline training, boost compliance.
Onboarding new staff is one of the most important processes in your facility. Providing quality care to those you serve starts with having well-trained, competent, and compassionate staff. Residex™ offers a variety of tools to help make the onboarding experience better for employees – and more organized and efficient for the trainers!
One way Residex can help is by setting up a group of Learn Residex LMS courses to be automatically delivered to new staff based on their Provider Type. Learning to document properly in Residex is one of the best ways to ensure your employees have the tools they need to succeed in their new roles.
If your staff are required to review Master Care Plans for residents or Policies entered into Residex, you can easily manage this process:
- Use the Populate Care Plans button to assign a staff member to review current resident Care Plans.
- Use the Populate Policies button to assign a staff member to review all Policies – or specific individual Policies.
Once populated, the user will be prompted to read and acknowledge Care Plans and/or Policies the next time they log into Residex. You can easily prove compliance by running the reports: Care Plans Reviewed – Staff or Review of Policies – One Staff.
Adding staff photos in Residex is a great way to introduce new team members! Here’s how:
- Click the Change Photo link on the Staff Profile.
- Drag and drop a photo into the target window or use the Upload button to select a photo from your device.
- Crop, center, and rotate the photo as needed.
- Press Save to complete the upload.
Staff orientation should be complete, informative, and as efficient as possible to prepare employees for their new roles. Residex offers several tools to support this process:
- Staff Training – Document staff training by navigating to the Staff Profile > In-service Trainings. You can make one entry to document a full orientation or break it down by topic. Training curriculum can also be saved in Campus Documents.
- Care Fundamentals – This set of on-demand virtual trainings helps meet the requirements for training under the 144G Assisted Living License, including dementia care. In some states, like Minnesota, RNs who train new caregivers are required to conduct competency testing under direct supervision when delegating skills such as medication passing or doctor-ordered treatments like applying compression stockings. Residex makes it simple to document this:
- Any Policy/Procedure classified as a "Procedure" will automatically be visible in the Staff Profile to document Certification and Competency Testing.
- Successful demonstrations of delegated skills can be documented right in the staff profile.
- You can run the Staff Supervision – Summary report to show compliance with supervision requirements within 30 days of hire and as needed thereafter.
The Staff Supervision feature also allows nurses to intermittently document staff performance for delegated tasks or services. You can:
- Specify which Provider Types require supervision.
- Set due dates and receive reminders.
- Document supervision after incidents or errors.
Users with the 411 Role can manage supervision settings by navigating to Today > +More > Campus > Staff Provider Types.
